Peapod is an early pioneer in online grocery shopping, has invested in technology to ensure that it can remain competitive against its rivals. However, it hasn't been able to make as much of a dent in the industry as other grocery delivery services, such as Instacart and Amazon Fresh. The 28-year-old veteran of the battle of online grocery stores is working to increase its competitiveness by expanding its online options. It recently launched a brand new mobile shopping experience based on its proprietary PRISM platform at its own sites, as well as the sites of its parent company, Ahold Delhaize USA.
