As an early innovator of online grocery shopping, Peapod has invested in technology to keep up with its competitors. However, it hasn't been able to make as much of an impact as other grocery delivery services like Instacart and Amazon Fresh. The 28-year-old veteran of the battle of online grocery stores is trying to improve its competitiveness through expanding its e-commerce offerings. It recently launched a brand new mobile shopping experience built on its proprietary PRISM platform at its own websites as well as those of its parent company, Ahold Delhaize USA.
